An LPA is a legal document that you (the donor) make choosing someone (the Attorney) whom you trust to make decisions on your behalf about such things as your personal welfare or property and affairs at a period in the future when you will no longer be able to make those decisions for yourself, either through ill health or lack of mental capacity.
